Scope:
Responsible for administration of Information Technology (IT) UNIX platforms, including establishment and implementation of standards/procedures/guidelines, backup/recovery strategies, performance monitoring, capacity planning, establishment and monitoring of thresholds, technical support, new hardware installation and hardware replacement, interface with customers, vendors, other IT personnel, and infrastructure architectural integration associated with respective platforms Additionally, maintain current knowledge of industry directions and work with customers and vendors to provide strategic planning associated with platform related issues.

Job Requirements and Functions:
Work 40 hours a week onsite for one year in USA
Perform System Administrator duties on the systems listed above at or above a senior level (all aspects of operations, monitor, trending, analysis and backup)
Possess a senior level or better knowledge of UNIX/AIX and TSM platform administration
Trend/Analysis storage and memory growth of AIX and TSM systems
Implement standards, procedures, and guidelines which provide guidance and control of platform administration.
Ensures the daily operation and functionality of the operating system and performs backup and recovery procedures as required.
Operate, monitor and backup the Tivoli Storage Manager.
Provides technical assistance and support to internal IT personnel (network administrators, database administrators, applications development) and IT customers as required.
Participates in software evaluation and selection.
Interfaces with vendor engineering and support services personnel.
Maintain Business Continuation Plan (BCP) for platform administration.
Recommends, plans, and implements hardware modifications to conform to approved configuration.
Develops the overall UNIX platform administration strategy for IT.
Provides technical guidance to other administrators.
Support request for Audit Queries
Coordinate the restore process with the off-site Disaster Recovery Center (ensure compatible system configurations between the two facilities)
Reconcile the tape inventory with the off-site tape storage company
Actively monitor and use the STP helpdesk system for responding to and tracking work request
Promptly provide data restore requests
Ensure daily analysis of backup system statistics from AIX and 3rd party products to monitor system performance and backup processes
Proactively respond and resolve issues with declining system indicators or report errors
Ensure proper handling of all processes being monitored by audit compliance (storage of reports, validation of review, etc.)
Trend/Analysis storage and memory growth of AIX and TSM systems
Support of 3rd Party servers:
Operate, Monitor, and backup a training system (Nuclear Energy Institutes, Plant Access Database Contract Worker Training and History system)
Operate, Monitor, and backup two Linux devices
Operate, Monitor, and backup an AIX system with NetApp storage for Records Management (IBM FileNet and P8 system)
Operate and Monitor a pager activation System (Rampage)
